How Employers Can Enhance Support for Expectant Mothers

Giving birth marks one of life’s most important milestones for many women and families. But it also represents a significant cost driver for employers, with maternity care accounting for the majority of hospitalizations for women between ages 19 to 44. Recently, innovations in digital health, as well as better access to provider quality data, have led many employers to rethink how they support employees on their journey to motherhood.

For example, some notable employers have partnered with technology vendors to provide expectant mothers with real-time alerts and personalized coaching throughout their pregnancy experience. Others are proactively guiding employees through the care delivery system, which can have high variability in cost and quality—recent analysis from Leapfrog showed that less than 20% of hospitals met quality standards. Finally, other employers are bringing it all together through Castlight’s health navigation platform to create a complete maternal health experience.

In this webinar, Leah Binder, CEO of The Leapfrog Group, Paris Wallace, CEO of Ovia Health, and Kristin Torres Mowat, SVP of Castlight, will present on trends in maternal health and ways employers can support their employees along their motherhood journey. Key areas of focus will include:

  • Redefining the Maternal Health Journey: How employers can support their employees through this life-changing experience
  • Maternal Health Care Delivery: State of the Union: How trends for cost, quality, and outcomes are shaping up in the U.S.
  • Better Outcomes, Healthier Employees: How employers can manage their benefits programs to lower costs, drive higher engagement, and support healthier moms
